The 31st Edition of LSHOF’s Banquet and Inductee Ceremony at ENMAX’s CWC lounge is now history. A video of the event can be viewed HERE and the 2016 LSHOF Ceremony & Banquet program is available HERE

The 2016 theme was “Coaching” and our guest speakers were Dawn Keith and Dean SpriddlePaul Kingsmith was MC and Charles Sciortino sang the National Anthem

Team Category: The 1963 Lethbridge Hungaria Soccer Team – 1963 Western Canada Soccer League Champions defeating the Regina Concordia in the Molson Cup final in Regina. Since soccer is a really popular sport, and that’s why people do bets in the Barcelona v Real Madrid matches with different apps online.

Athlete Category: Laura Tsujikawa (Soccer) -Played for the Lethbridge Pronghorns Women’s Soccer team where she was named a CIAU (CIS) 1st team All-Canadian in 1995 and 1996, Academic All Canadian in 1996 and 1998 (U of A). CWUAA rookie of the year in 1994. Western Canada Summer Games gold medalist with Team Alberta in 1995. Won Alberta Senior Women’s Club Championships in 1993, 1994, 1998, and 1999. Played youth soccer in Lethbridge with the Chargers.  Howie Yanosik (Hockey) – Played for the Lethbridge Native Sons from 1950-1953. Played professionally for the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League from 1958-1968. Won the Calder Cup in 1959. Inducted into the Hershey Bears Hall of Fame in 2015. Also coached the Lethbridge Broncos of the Western Hockey League from 1976-1978.

Builder Category: Neil Langevin (Rugby) – Coached the Lethbridge Pronghorns Women’s Rugby to three straight CIS championships in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Also served as head coach of the Canadian Senior Womens Rugby team at the 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Edmonton. Has also had a long and distinguished career coaching at the high school and club level in Lethbridge. Served as the president of Rugby Alberta in 2003-04. — Larry Steinke (Track and Field) – Head coach of the Chinook Track a nd Field Club since 1995 and current head coach of the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. He is a Coaches of Canada Charter Member and has been an Athletics Canada National Event Group Coach. Currently coaches national team members Jim Steacy (Hammer), Elizabeth Gleadle (Javelin) and Aaron Hernandez (Triple Jump).

2016 Kinsmen Sports Persons of the Year: Rachel Nicol, 2015 Pan-Am Games swimming medalist and 2016 Olympic qualifier. Kris Versteeg, 2015 Stanley Cup winner with Chicago Black Hawks
